A Husband's Perspective

A Husband's Perspective

Is it the coolest thing having a wife who loves golf?

Yes, and for some reasons you may not have considered.

Here are the best parts:

  • Golf has given us a shared hobby that we're both passionate about. Of course, it can simply be looked at as a great reason to get out of the house but it's also an outlet for adventure. We spend countless hours every year out on golf courses, talking, laughing, taking in the scenery, while doing something active.
  • The sport has provided us with a dream to work towards. We both aspire to someday spend our days traveling the world playing as many of the top courses as we possibly can. That dream for tomorrow has been very motivating and has given us the energy to do the things we may not love today.
  • It's become our competitive outlet. With both of us having been collegiate athletes and having played sports the entirety of our lives, we're used to competing and working to hone our skills at something active. In my opinion it's healthy to maintain that level of drive as you get older but with age it can become challenging to find ways to do so. Golf is the answer for us.
  • Lastly, it's given us South Coast Golf. Something for us to sink our time and energy into. Something for us to be extremely passionate about getting right. An additional layer of purpose and direction.

I know that Ally falling in love with the sport inspired all of this. However, our main goal is to inspire way more women to pick up a club, fall in love with the sport, and experience all of the same benefits that we have. And yes, that may result in more time in the sunshine on beautiful golf courses with your significant other. Does that sound so bad?
